Mobile Engineer (Flutter) — LogiTrack Driver App

About the role

The LogiTrack driver app is used by professional truck and motorcycle drivers while they are actively driving, in challenging conditions — bright sunlight, one hand free, glancing at the screen for one second at a time. You will build a Flutter application optimised for this use case: large touch targets, high-contrast UI, minimal steps to complete common actions, and voice output for navigation instructions. Core features you will build: the job briefing screen that shows the driver their assigned deliveries with route overview, cargo details, and delivery window; turn-by-turn navigation using Google Maps Flutter SDK with voice guidance in Swahili and English; the delivery confirmation flow with signature capture, parcel photo, and recipient ID scan using the device camera; the issue reporting flow for breakdowns, accidents, cargo damage, and route blockages; the live position sharing that sends GPS pings every thirty seconds via an efficient background service; and the emergency SOS button with immediate alert to dispatch and nearest driver. The app must work reliably with intermittent connectivity — GPS navigation must work offline using downloaded map tiles, and delivery confirmations must be queued for upload when connectivity is restored. You will use flutter_background_geolocation for continuous GPS tracking without killing the battery, and WorkManager for reliable background sync. Experience building navigation or logistics driver apps is highly valued. Experience with background location services, camera integrations, and offline-capable Flutter apps is required.
