Junior Python Developer (Fintech)

Role Overview: Equity Bank is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Python Developer to join our digital innovation lab. You will work alongside senior engineers to develop and maintain our next-generation digital banking features. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to start their career in a leading financial institution. Responsibilities: - Assist in developing backend microservices using Python and FastAPI. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. - Participate in unit testing and automated integration testing. - Help in managing and optimizing MySQL databases. - Collaborate with the team on API design and documentation using Swagger. - Learn about cloud deployments and DevOps practices. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with web frameworks like Django or FastAPI. - Basic understanding of SQL and relational database design. - Familiarity with version control systems (Git). - Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn. Nice-to-haves: - Internship experience in a tech company or financial institution. - Basic knowledge of Docker and containerization. - Active participation in coding communities or open-source projects.
