Fullstack Engineer — EduBridge LMS

About the role

EduBridge is an adaptive learning platform for African universities and needs a Fullstack Engineer who will build the student portal, course player, and adaptive learning engine across Next.js frontend and NestJS backend. This is a full-product role where you will own significant architectural decisions and see your code used by thousands of students. Frontend responsibilities include: the course catalog with advanced filtering by field, institution, and career pathway; the adaptive course player with video playback (including offline download), interactive exercises, and a code sandbox using CodeMirror; the student progress dashboard with learning velocity metrics and career readiness indicators; the AI-assisted assessment interface with real-time question generation; and the peer collaboration tools including discussion threads and study group matching. Backend responsibilities include: the NestJS APIs for all course and enrollment operations; the adaptive learning algorithm that sequences content based on student performance; the assessment engine that generates novel questions from learning objectives using Gemini; the Pesapal payment integration for course enrollment fees; and the institutional admin APIs that generate transcript data and examination board reports. You will work with MongoDB for content storage (rich course documents with embedded exercises), PostgreSQL for relational data (enrollments, grades, users), and Redis for real-time features (collaboration presence, live quiz sessions). Strong experience with Next.js, NestJS, and content-heavy applications is required.
