About the role
Our engineering team is scaling rapidly and we need a DevOps and Platform Engineer who will build and own the infrastructure that keeps everything running smoothly. You will be the person who makes sure our Kubernetes clusters are healthy, our CI/CD pipelines are fast, our secrets are secure, and our engineers can ship confidently multiple times a day. This is a deeply technical and highly autonomous role. You will design and maintain our AWS infrastructure using Terraform, manage our EKS clusters, and build the internal developer platform that abstracts away infrastructure complexity so that our application engineers can focus on product work. You believe that platform engineering is a product — your customers are the engineers who depend on your tooling every day. Your responsibilities will include: designing and implementing GitOps workflows using ArgoCD, managing our observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), maintaining our secrets management system (AWS Secrets Manager and Vault), building and optimising CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, managing database infrastructure for PostgreSQL and Redis including backups, replication, and disaster recovery, and implementing security controls that satisfy our PCI-DSS compliance requirements. You are comfortable with Linux system administration, understand networking fundamentals at a level that allows you to debug connectivity issues between pods, and you have strong scripting skills in Bash and Python. You have experience with incident management and you understand that on-call rotations require building systems that are easy to debug at 2am. We run on AWS with services including EKS, RDS Aurora, ElastiCache, S3, CloudFront, SQS, and Lambda. Our Kubernetes clusters run approximately forty microservices. You will have significant influence over architectural decisions and direct access to the founders when you need it. We offer a competitive salary, medical cover, flexible remote work, and a dedicated infrastructure budget for experiments and improvements. If you love building reliable, elegant infrastructure for systems that matter, this is the role for you.
